Never Let Me Go

Dress & cardigan, J.Crew. Scarf, Ralph Lauren. Belt, Joe Fresh. Tights, Hue. Wellies, Hunter.

This was one of my weekend outfits for dining in with a friend and finally watching the theater-elusive Never Let Me Go (which I had assumed to be merely a coming-of-age story filled with boarding school ennui). Those of you who have seen it may imagine my surprise. You could even say I got Vanilla Sky-ed (cryogenics? really?!?). Anyway, if you haven't seen it yet, you should - it's beautifully shot, perfectly concise, and best of all, you can get your Carey Mulligan on.

Strangely, I never read the book, nor ever saw the movie.

I read the script, and I don't remember why.

I love the pretty blue colour of your dress. That was the colour my bedroom walls were at my parents' house and I have been obsessed with it every since!

I should also probably get to seeing that movie, as everyone I know has been telling me to... ahh.

Love that pop of blue!

If you enjoyed the movie, I highly recommend Kazuo Ishiguro's novel. I actually haven't watched the film, but Ishiguro is one of my favourite authors. His narratives are sometimes painstakingly detailed, but I swear that the buildup and the climax are worth the sometimes slow narrative pace.
