Party on the top, Work on the bottom

Top, Talbots. Skirt, Club Monaco. Belt, Eddie Bauer. Pumps, Nine West.

When I first put on this soft cotton top, I felt ready for either a nice nap or beer with the guys (Okay, it would be more like cocktails with the girls. And since it's Monday night, Blair and Serena). This is where the body-con pencil skirt, pearls, and pumps came in to lift a casual top to corporate heights. Polished and slightly uncomfortable? That is more my speed.

Hahahaha I know the feeling of slightly uncomfortable. Not totally sure I've ever made it to polished but you certainly have! Every time I drive by the local Talbots now I think of you and your preppy shirt. I need to go in there sometime!

I have a similar skirt from H&M. Don't you love how it goes with everything and makes it look classy?

I love the dressy juxtaposition of a T-shirt and belted pencil skirt!

Glad you enjoyed the Costume Interview Post. It's so interesting to think about style from different perspectives and consider why people wear what they do. I'm filing away skirts and lactose intolerance in case I ever become a costumer. :)

I wear long sleeved t shirts almost all of my life. I'm serious. I wish I wasn't. I can't help it, they're an addiction. AND it's not like I have so many colours either...

At least now I have inspiration for how to make them look NIIICE!

I like the mix of cool and classic! I haven't watched Gossip girls in so long that I wouldn't know where to start. Cute outfit!

You are definitely channeling Blair! No headband??

You look fantastic! That's definitely the way to wear a more casual shirt to work. I love the color combo too with the belt!
