Smell The Hydrangeas

Blouse, Banana Republic. Skirt, thrifted YSL Encore. Scarf, Brooks Brothers. Sandals, Geox.

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the hydrangeas and be thankful for what you have. Take, for example, this Yves Saint Laurent diffusion line pencil skirt that I acquired right before my vacation. It's not my usual choice of color (unless it's cool to match one's clothes to one's skin tone), but at six dollars of French silk, I made it a favorite. In other words, cut trumps color, even when you're a color addict like I am. The only downside? Since it was actually made in France in the mid-nineties, the skirt is not vanity-sized... A tight squeeze for my accidentally-ingested-dairy size (It works best with my dehydrated-and-looking-fab size).

I hate when a skirt fit my "before the food" waist..he he. Such a GREAT find and it looks great on you.

Can I have some flowers to smell over here?? :)

This is such a chic outfit - and I like your poses. And oh yes, it can be alarming to remember what real sizes are, as opposed to vanity sizing. But beauty is pain, no?

There are a few instances where matching clothes to one's skin color would be ideal: 1) you're a chameleon; 2) your an international spy; 3) you're an international spy chameleon--all of which require one to be inconspicuous. Furthermore, it's preferable that both clothing and skin match the surroundings for all this to be effective.

Thanks again for your kind comment on my blog. In looking through your posts, I quite enjoy your writing style and fashion sense. You're classic with a twist! I'll be keeping up with you on bloglovin'. (Have already saved the polka dotted dress with green cardi and wellies look on my pinterest).

Thanks so much for the nice comment on my blog! :) Vanity sizes are the worst--they give me an excuse to eat a ton of candy but continue to say "I'm still a size 6, really!" Your outfit is beautiful, just like the flowers.

Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog, this outfit is fantastic! I can't believe you thrifted a YSL slik skirt for $6, that's unbelievable. Beautiful blue hydrangeas, they are my favorite, we have green ones on the kitchen table right now :)

Dehydrated and look fab size - LOL This made me laugh.

I'm not normally one for nude tones either, but I find that I am liking them more and more over time. This looks great on you and perfect with the red and blue. And $6? What a buy!

P.S. I realized in the midst of my chameleon and spy musing that I forgot to mention how you look absolutely adorable regardless of the fact, that you are neither a lizard or secret agent! In fact, I had a mini-panic attack and a made a mad dash over here to tell you this for fear of sounding like a doofus. :)
