Oxford Blue

Button-up, Talbots. Skirt, Club Monaco. Scarf as belt, Brooks Brothers. Tights, Hue. Wellies, Hunter.

I had been looking for the perfect blue oxford shirt for ages and I'm happy to report the search is over. Talbots used to be the store where all my high school teachers seemed to shop and I was always envious of their oxford finds. Now that I'm not a girl of sixteen anymore (but pretty close), their apparel actually fits me, so I can shop to my preppy heart's content. I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Ooh, nice touch with the scarf-as-belt. I need to check out Talbots... a couple bloggers have mentioned their brand makeover and how it's not just mom jeans anymore. I love preppy stuff.

I feel like you're trying to wear your belts progressively higher with each blog.

Pretty soon you'll be wearing sweatbands like you were Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

I haven't checked out Talbots in forever but I just ordered a bunch of stuff from Lands End (Canvas). I thought it was for old people but they have some stuff that's just so preppy perfect and I have to admit it's better quality than a lot of mall stores.

Now get off my lawn whippersnappers!

I like your double-breasted skirt. Wait, that sounds funny for a skirt, but the possible alternative sounds inappropriate. So sad that we still have wellies weather, huh?

I've been so behind on everything bloggy. Re: adverbs, I more just wanted your opinion on whether or not you felt they are worthless. I kind of like them. Adjectives are still my faves though.

Ah, you look so cute! I was just thinking of buying some mud boots since it's *always* muddy or rainy here in the pacific northwest. I'm gonna head over to the Talbots site and see if there's anything for me.

I was never a fan of Talbots until recently. I always find such beautiful thrift items by Talbot, but never my size. :(
