Once More To The Bookshelf

Dress, J.Crew. Necklace, New York & Co. Pumps, Nine West.

I have a hard time reading newly published works because I'm constantly worried that there are so many classics I haven't pored over and old favorites that are begging to be reread. Yes, I eagerly await every new Joan Didion treasure (Blue Nights has been testing my patience like no other), but nothing beats the rediscovery of old comforts. I've never really understood those who seek newness because I find myself obsessed not with firsts, but with recreating firsts. This is why I have been going through old books at my mother's, falling in love again with E. B. White's Once More To The Lake eight years after our first encounter.

That dress is really pretty! And I know exactly what you mean, any more when I head to the library I always reach for the classics.

I can't, and I mean really can't, reread a book. No matter what the genre. No matter how much I loved it in the first place. I've tried. So I'm really grateful that many new ones are being written because I'm a voracious reader. I think reading is the best vacation from reality that I have ever found.

I love rereading books, and when I go back to Canada I'm going to reread The Fat Woman next door is Pregnant.

You look extra lovely in this simple but chic outfit!

I hear ya! I've had 2 not great book experiences this month and I just need to read something I know I'll like. I think it's time to hit the bookshelf instead of the library. Unbearable Lightness of Being here I come.

i so feel the same way! i've been pushing away newer books that have been tempting me, to read "love in the time of cholera" for the second time and "breakfast at tiffany's".

I should try that! It's been proven that if you see something more then once you find something different every time.(I think..he he) Lovely and classic outfit! :)

J'adore E.B. white! I must admit that I tend to read new fiction for the most part- right now I'm reading "Eat, Pray, Love" (I know I'm a bit behind!) I love this outfit- simple and elegant!

What a great little black dress! You look SO gorgeous. I just love when I find a great classic book. I tend to gravitate towards the creepy ones. Frankenstein is my favorite, and I just read Turn of the Screw. Also, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies was amazing, but does that count as a classic? Perhaps not. ;)
