Memory Lane

Sweater and skirt, Banana Republic. Shell, J.Crew. Pin, vintage. Belt. Eddie Bauer. Flats, Browns.
Most days, I will not leave the house without tucking my shirt into my skirt, but sometimes you just gotta switch it up and reverse proportions like it's 1998. What else was I rocking in '98? Midriff-baring tops (again - sorry, mom), overly plucked eyebrows (zeal? ADHD? I still can't explain this one), and a Natalie Imbruglia haircut. I thought I was all that and a bag of pommes frites! In hindsight, I was more like potato chips - an odd, discontinued flavor with oodles of MSG - but those were the good ole days!

HA! Sounds like my 98!

Everything about this outfit makes me happy--the colors, the tiny brooch, the eyelet collar, the bright umbrella. So ladylike, and yet so fun.

It's awesome how your shell top matches your umbrella! Again, you have a serious talent in putting bright colours together and making it look pretty rather than clashy.

I LOVE the last picture! Your writing is always such a pleasure. Also, I love the untucked shirt. I can never quite maneuver that any more!

In reference to your comment on my blog...I think I have to disagree with you. YOU must be the cutest thing ever! You mix colors so well, I love it!

Your commitment to color makes me smile every time a new post pops up on my reader. Also, I'm loving the dainty femininity of the vintage pin on your collar, and... I too had very tiny eyebrows in the 90s. Even worse- I experimented first on my younger sister, and her brows never quite grew back the same way. She still holds a grudge and will not let me near her face.

I love the bright colours! Trust me, you could totally pull off a bright lipstick, you just need to find a shade that suits your skin tone the best.
