One Sandwich Short of a Picnic

Cardigan, J.Crew. Shirt & pumps, Banana Republic. Skirt, vintage. Belt, Eddie Bauer. Flower, bush.

I take pride in not being intentionally trendy, but this newly thrifted skirt has both pleats and a gingham print - two major trends right now. I just can't catch a break! (though I did score the skirt for five dollars). Doesn't it seem silly that style sources refer to these classics as "trends?" Schoolgirl uniforms and rustic tablecloths the world over must be puzzled and outraged.

Who needs sandwiches? Pack your picnic basket with cheese, crackers, and wine! Grapes and strawberries would be nice, too.

Love this outfit! Pink and green has been a color combination for me this year. It reminds me of valley girl prep. As if! Like, totally!

You look so cute with your gingham skirt on and a flower in your hand. I agree classic should never become trends, but we live in a crazy world.

SN: Red and green is what brought us together your wearing our ;)

ps. I was really channeling Prince for that post so GREAT guess. Now I will call my self the "HOT PURPLE ONE"

Tableclothes would be offended, but certainly not by your awesome red-gingham and green sweater combo... seriously, gingham is one of my favourite things ever for summer...

Wow, what an awesome thrift find and WOW what great colors to pair together. You are all things spring and fresh.
I also think it's absurd to call something a trend if it's ALWAYS a trend. Like you said, at that point it's a classic.
