Reap What You Sow

Shirt and skirt, Banana Republic. Blazer, Club Monaco. Cultured pearls, Paris. Belt, H&M. Pumps, Nine West.

I've been watching a lot of movies on Netflix lately and have learned to love the whole "reap what you sow" business. Watching 8 1/2 brought Jules Et Jim in my queue, followed by a great deal of Antonioni. My goal is to eventually watch the (thus far) elusive Last Year At Marienbad and pseudo-educate myself in the process (snooty cinephiles, I'm coming for you). Now, if only getting dressed in the morning worked like Netflix because... can you believe it? This lagoonish ensemble yielded no tropical results.

My most recent netflix came in the mail today... well, just the flap with my address-- the pouch containing the dvd was nowhere to be found! :(

I find the "you might like" section hilarious, because we rent the most random (aka snooty mcfilmsnob) films. Currently, my Netflix is suggesting "Witty Independent Dysfunctional-Family Movies" and "Classic Dark Movies from the 1960s." Spot on, actually. Previously, there were also suggestions about cerebral art house, japanese anti-heroes and foreign heist flicks, but I've forgotten the specific language.

Have you watched L'eclisse yet? I'm not sure if I've seen any other Antonioni, but I really do like that one. Last Year at Marienbad strikes me as something that's probably more of an historical document for innovative filmmaking, rather than, you know, something to casually enjoy.

But I guess it is a ghost story...

Your title made me think that you had sewn something in this outfit. And I was ready to be INSANELY jealous of your skills! For now, I'll just be jealous of this cute outfit.

We just watched the first half of Last Year at Marienbad. It's one of my favorite French films, but my partner hadn't seen it yet. Gorgeous. I adore every shot.

Now, I need to imitate you and see Jules & Jim again.

Sharing Netflix means I watch Rachel Getting Married and An Education and then log on a few days later and every single movie recommended to me is Michael J Fox. And I mean, I LOVE Michael J. Fox, but gah, I need to buy the boyfriend out of his share or something...

I REALLY want to watch Last Year at Marianbad! I never ever thought to check Netflix though; gosh... Now I know what I'm off to do.

Also, you look stunning in green, I love the full skirt, and your hair is never anything less than perfect! But I feel like I always say that. But it's true.

I love that icy blue skirt! Maybe if I wear something lagoonish I can help a little with the weather in our corner of the world? The more the tropicaler?
